The Quality Assurance Technician, under the direction of the Operations Manager, inspects first piece and finished products, incoming and raw materials, performs analysis of titration and pH levels, evaluates customers concerns, and reports any deviations to insure the production of the highest quality products.
Essential Duties:
- Organizes and supervises daily housekeeping and clean up schedule. Insures compliance with all safety rules and procedures.
- Makes dimensional or mechanical destructive and non-destructive tests to ensure product and process quality.
- Documents data and communicates results on problem areas to manufacturing and Quality Manager.
- Performs first piece inspections and subsequent tests as required by customer specifications.
- Assists as required in developing customer specific tests or techniques.
- Supplies immediate feedback to Shift Supervision and all lead personnel on any part discrepancies.
- Inspects incoming material for conformance to specifications or coating requirements as well as any customer returns to evaluate reasons for returns.
- Documents all results on appropriate test records.
- Assists as required, in all ISO related activities, including internal and external audits.
- Performs titration and pH analysis of washing system, adjusting caustic and acid as required.
- Analyzes customer concerns for Viable and Non-Viable recommendations.
- Audits manufacturing set-ups and information requirements and makes corrections as necessary.
- Performs and analyzes limited Designated Experiments.
- Creates and maintains all statistical process control charts.
- Takes inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Calibrates laboratory equipment.
- Communicate with customers whenever necessary.
- May be required to train production personnel in the use of tools and equipment.
- May have to schedule production in absence of Operations Manager.
- May have to quote new jobs under direction of Operations Manager.
- Completes all necessary records to insure proper billing, rework or scrap.
- Advises maintenance and upper management of all required repairs.
- May be required to monitor and adjust wash system when needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, required.
- 2-4 years of Quality Assurance experience, required.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficient with computer skills and applications.
- Possess strong math skills.
