Maintenance Technician
Job Type: Full Time, Monday-Thursday
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Hourly
The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Production Manager, performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance of production equipment and facilities to insure efficient, timely production and provide for a safe environment for employees and visitors.
Essential Duties:
- Performs a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, etc.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains production equipment and facilities.
- Maintains related records, including repair and upgrades.
- Coordinates all outside bids, quotes and contracts for repair, installation and purchases.
- Orders and maintains spare parts inventories for equipment and facility.
- Establishes preventative maintenance and repair schedule for production equipment and facilities.
- Inspects, repairs and maintains facilities, lighting, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, air compressors, office equipment and forklifts to insure optimal operations and safety.
- Performs limited shop floor layout changes or modifications and facilities building projects.
- Performs snow removal, lawn care and general housekeeping as required.
- Complies with and enforces OSHA, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Trains, instructs and guides other personnel in the use and maintenance of equipment as required.
- When available, performs material handling functions.
- When available, assists on the production line.
Education and/or Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years maintenance or trade experience.
Other Required Skills:
- Good oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have a strong math background.
- Must be knowledgeable and have electrical experience with 480-volt systems.
- Must be able to weld, stick and/or mig.
